Germany will host this seasons bobsled and skeleton world championships, which were pulled out of Russia after numerous competitors considered a boycott in response to that nations widespread doping program. Seahawks Womens Jerseys .Koenigssee was the track selected by the International Bobsled and Skeleton Federation for the championships, which will be held Feb. 13-26 -- even though some nations felt they could be moved a week earlier. Koenigssee will also host a weekend of World Cup racing in January.Sochi lost the hosting rights last week in the fallout of the Russian doping scandal. The track at Krasnaya Polyana was used for the 2014 Sochi Olympics, which World Anti-Doping Agency investigator Richard McLaren concluded was corrupted by a state-backed doping program. That led to a number of athletes and teams talking boycott. For me personally, Im just happy that it was moved and we will still get to have a world championships with full participation from all nations, said U.S. skeleton slider Matt Antoine, who was going to boycott if the event was in Russia as scheduled. I still want to compete in the world championships. I just wasnt going to do it in Russia.Koenigssee has a history of stepping in as a replacement site. The 2011 world championships were originally awarded to Cortina dAmpezzo, Italy, then moved to Koenigssee two years before the event because of track concerns. This time, theyre moving with worlds less than two months away -- an unprecedented scramble following an unprecedented scandal. The Russians have said they will not boycott worlds, even going as far as to say that they understood why the IBSF made the decision. Many athletes cited the integrity of the doping process as their primary concern about competing at the worlds in Russia, especially after the second McLaren report was released showing the depth of the doping program there.McLarens report showed that some Russian gold medalists from the Sochi Games were tainted by doping. Russia won gold medals in two-man bobsled, four-man bobsled and mens skeleton at the Olympics, though none of the athletes who got those victories has been implicated by any known positive or tampered-with tests. We will come and prove that we are able to fight at any championship, Russian Bobsled Federation president Alexander Zubkov, a winner of two gold medals at the Sochi Games, told reporters from Russia last week.Park City, Utah, was also under consideration to host. To the surprise of many, it isnt the Wolverines but their in-state rivals the Michigan State Spartans. NASHVILLE, Tenn. -- Mark Few wondered how his eighth-ranked Gonzaga Bulldogs would handle a nine-day break for exams, traveling cross country and playing in front of a heavily orange crowd.Tennessee coach Rick Barnes saw enough Sunday to think Few and Gonzaga still might be undefeated when March rolls around.Nigel Williams-Goss scored 20 points, and Gonzaga remained unbeaten by holding off Tennessee 86-76.I thought they did good, especially the way we started the first half, Few said. Usually when you come out of finals like this, youre a little bit concerned about losing rhythm. We had some pretty good rhythm going into finals. Gave them several days off, I was a little bit worried about that. They responded.Gonzaga (11-0) hadnt played since beating Akron on Dec. 10 and looked strong as it scored the first eight points and never trailed. The Bulldogs led 27-6 on a jumper by Zach Collins with 12:06 left, 43-29 at halftime and 64-48 midway through the second half.Tennessee (6-5) went on a 10-3 run and got within 75-71 on a jumper by Robert Hubbs III with 2:26 left.Josh Perkins then hit a jumper as Gonzaga held on for its fourth straight win in the five games between these teams.Obviously we werent perfect, but to come in here and beat a good Tennessee team by double digits, and pretty much control the entire game, I thought we did a good job, Williams-Goss said. But theres room to grow. This was billed as the Battle of Broadway played at Bridgestone Arena, so technically it was a neutral court -- except for all the fans wearing Tennessee orange in the seats. Those fans got very loud as the Vols made their run.Barnes wasnt happy with how the Vols started, and hes tiring of coming close in losses. Its one thing being talked about as being a scrappy team that fights all the time, but at some point in time weve got to want to be more than that, he said. Weve got to want to play 40 minutes, and we havent done that at anny point in time this year. Cheap Seahawks Jerseys. Detrick Mostella led Tennessee with 17 points and Hubbs had 10.The Vols played without 6-foot-7 freshman John Fulkerson, who missed his first game since dislocating his right elbow in Thursday nights win over Lipscomb. Fulkerson is expected to miss six weeks with the injury.BIG PICTUREGonzaga: The Bulldogs came in as one of six undefeated teams in the Top 25 and did nothing to hurt their stock after their break. ... They improved to 12-8 all-time against Southeastern Conference teams and 2-0 this season. Gonzaga beat Florida last month. ... With 7-1 center Karnowski and 6-9 Johnathan Williams, the Bulldogs outrebounded Tennessee 42-38.Tennessee: This was the Vols fourth game in eight days, a stretch that started a week ago with a 73-71 loss in Chapel Hill to No. 7 North Carolina. ... Barnes now is 0-5 against Gonzaga and 0-4 against Few. ... Freshman Grant Williams scored 30 points in the Vols last game and finished with 11.QUOTABLEI think hes got as good a team as hes ever had, Barnes said of Few. I think hes going to become an even bigger story in college basketball because if you look ahead, hes always done tremendous things with his team in the league and he could be the first time in a long time that youve got a team capable of being undefeated heading into postseason play.FOUL TROUBLEThe officiating crew of Karl Hess, Jamie Luckie and Brent Hampton called 56 fouls combined. Gonzaga and Tennessee each had a player foul out with Silas Melson playing 18 minutes before his fifth foul for the Bulldogs, while Jordan Bowden had nine points in 27 minutes for the Vols. Gonzaga finished the game with four players having four fouls apiece.UP NEXTGonzaga: The Bulldogs host South Dakota on Wednesday.Tennessee: At East Tennessee State on Thursday night. Geeongs ignominious end to the 2016 AFL season still doesnt sit well with Patrick Dangerfield, the Brownlow medallist demanding a lift across the board from the Cats. Green Kings Jerseys .Geelongs premiership tilt was effectively over at quarter-time of their preliminary final after Sydneys devastating seven-goals-to-nil opening blitz.Dangerfield admitted the manner of the resounding defeat still irks him as the clubs full playing list came together for pre-season training.I think it will be in the back of the mind for a fair while ... it was a bitterly disappointing way to finish the season, but we look forward to 2017, Dangerfield told reporters on Wednesday.Id be lying if I said it wasnt in the back of my mind, but we need to look forward.Dangerfield, who was the runaway Brownlow Medal winner just days after the Cats finals exit, still has areas of his game he wants to improve. But he and midfield partner Joel Selwood could barely have done much more against the Swans, gathering 39 disposals each. The former Adelaide star agreed a more even contribution was required for his side to be a legitimate challenger.I think we all need to share the load better ... we need to perform better for each other, he said.We were too inconsistent when we really required our very best at the pointy end of the season. The good teams perform consistently and thats what we need to strive to get to.Other teams around us are improving as well ... GWS, Sydney and the Western Bulldogs - Im sure theyre not resting on their laurels.Mercurial midfielder Steve Motlop looms as a key factor next year after an inconsistent 2016 campaign saw him put up for trade by the Cats, who found no suitors. After returning from holidays out of shape last year, Motlop cut a lean figure at Simonds Stadium on Wednesday.Steves in really good shape, which is really good to see, Dangerfield said.Hes one of the best players in the competition when he plays at his best so we need that and we need it consistently and Im confident hell be able to do that. Louis Blues. Shane Hnidy joins Brian Munz for the broadcast on TSN 1290 Radio at 7pm ct. WICB president Dave Cameron has said Darren Bravo was offered a Grade-C contract because his poor recent performances did not merit a higher pay grade. Cameron also revealed that of the 15 players who were recently offered WICB contracts till September 2017, only Kraigg Brathwaite and Marlon Samuels had received contracts higher than the C category. Along with Bravo, Carlos Brathwaite and Samuels, who was given a Grade-B contract, had declined the boards offer. This is the first time that the WICB offered an explanation of the contract Bravo was offered. It is explicit that if your averages are not above a certain level it tells you what contracts you get. It is very, very explicit, Cameron told SportsMax TV, a Caribbean television network. His averages in the last two years have been declining, so what do you do? Reward poor performance or do you encourage him to get better?Bravo is one of the most experienced players in the West Indies Test squad and when Cameron asked if it was demotivating for the batsman to be offered a low contract, he said: If you continue to keep giving him an A contract then what is the motivation to get better? He has been on an A contract and he hasnt done well.Bravo responded with a tweet saying he had never been offered a Grade-A contract. You hav been failing 4 d last 4yrs. Y dont u resign and FYI Ive neva been given an A contract. Big idiot @davec51, he said on Twitter.Bravo, 27, was West Indies second-highestt run getter in the recently concluded Test series against Pakistan in the UAE. Womens Kings Jerseys. Since November 2014, Bravo scored 1089 runs in 17 Tests for West Indies, a tally that is second to Kraigg Brathwaites 1258 runs in 20 matches. Bravo scored two centuries and seven fifties in this period, and was also the second-highest run getter for the side in away Tests in this period, with 391 runs at an average of 43.44. Bravos overall batting average in overseas Tests is 51.18.The WICB retainers comprise five categories - A+, A, B+, B and C - and the eventual grades are based on a points system used for players. These points are calculated by an appraisal formula that compares the players performance over the last 12 months to his overall career figures. In 2015, Bravo scored 644 runs in nine Tests at an average of 35.77, with his best performances coming overseas. In Sri Lanka, he scored two half-centuries from four innings before racking up 247 runs in five innings at 49.4 in Australia. VANCOUVER, B. Wholesale Buccaneers Jerseys .C. -- Members of the Toronto Raptors elected to interlock arms during the playing of both the Canadian and U.S. national anthems before their 97-93 preseason win over the Golden State Warriors on Saturday night. There had been speculation over how each team might approach The Star-Spangled Banner, given the recent kneeling and fist protests inspired by San Francisco 49ers?quarterback?Colin Kaepernick, who said his actions were in response to racial injustice and fatal police shootings in the United States. While the Raptors locked arms throughout both anthems, the Warriors comported themselves traditionally, save for forward David West, who stood roughly 2 feet behind the anthem line with his arms behind his back.On Monday, West told The Undefeateds Marc J. Spears of a possible anthem display: Protest is an individual thing. Its based on your own personal conviction. I dont think anybody should feel compelled one way or the other. Particularly, dont feel pressure to do it because other guys are doing it. Be personally convicted. Feel like if youre doing something, what youre doing is from you and not because its the popular thing to do.At Warriors media day, Golden State forward Draymond Green spoke at length on the subject of protest.I think its important to speak out because were human, Green said. There are a lot of changes that need to be made. Its not just the killing of black people -- thats obviously rough and crazy to me -- there are a lot of changes that need to be made in this country. While Green, Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson all indicated they would stand for the anthem, they praised Kaepernicks approach. New Warrior Kevin Durant said he was very proud of him. Before Saturdays game, Warriors coach Steve Kerr was asked about his message to his team regarding the anthem and said, My message was that our organization supports our players and whatever they decide to do. I support them, but Id like for everybody to have a heads-up for each others sake because, obviously, its going to generate a lot of conversation if someone decides to make some kind of statement, whether its kneeling or a fist in the air, so I dont anticipate our guys will do anything based on our conversations -- mainly because our guys are more focused on the next step.?Weve talked a lot more about how we can help in our community, what can we do better as a group, and go from there. In response to a similar question, Raptors coach Dwane Casey said, Weve had some great conversations coming from the South, coming from segregation, segregated schools, and going through integration -- Ive experienced a lot of whats going on firsthand, and fortunately we talked and [dealt] with each other.Guys were real. Guys have sincere feelings, sincere thoughts, sincere things to talk about, and concerns. And thats what all this is to be about, to induce conversation, and thats what our players can do.No Dallas Mavericks or New Orleans Pelicans players displayed any form of protest before or during the national anthem of their preseason matchup in Bossier City, Louisiana, which was not broadcast on television.ESPNs Justin Verrier contributed to this report.? The ICC has refused to get involved in the BCCIs tussle with the Lodha Committee, ICC chief executive David Richardson has indicated.Richardson told India Today that BCCI president Anurag Thakur had asked the global governing body to address a letter to the Indian board, asking it to clarify whether the reforms of the Lodha Committee - forced on the board by the Supreme Court of India - did not amount to government interference in the boards running. As per ICC regulations, member boards cannot have government interference in their running.ICC chairman Shashank Manohar, Richardson said, was reluctant to get involved in the matter unless formally requested to.The BCCI president Mr Thakur did verbally ask the ICC to write a letter to the BCCI asking the BCCI to explain whether the recommendations of Lodha Committee might constitute government interference, Richardson said, according to PTI. But Mr Manohar said that the ICC should not write such a letter unless the BCCI first writes to the ICC requesting ICC to intervene, or ICC receives a letter from another of its member boards to do so. But no such letters have been received. So I understand that Mr Manohar is reluctant to interfere in the domestic affairs of a member country. He will not do so without being formally requested to do so by the member concerned and nor is he prepared to put the ICC in a position where it could be perceived as challenging the authority of the Supreme Court of India.Dont forget... the consequences of the government interference could lead to the suspension of a member board and nobody really wants the BCCI to be suspended.Richardson said Thakur was not happy with the ICCs refusal to write the letter. There were other board members present when that request was made by Mr Thakur, he said. As far as I [could] see, Mr Thakur actually criticised the ICC for not sending the letter.BCCI secretary Ajay Shirke responded to Richardson saying: First of all, any verbal discussion is not a request. Informal discussions take place on so many issues.Shirke added that it had been Manohars call, when he was still the BCCI president and the board had submitted its affidavit to the Supreme Court after the Lodha recommendations, to highlight the threat of suspension. Authentic Buccaneers Jerseys. .When these affidavits were made, it was Shashank who approved them as BCCI president and lawyer. He was the one who said, we should include this point, Shirke told the Times of India. He was already heading the ICC and was holding both portfolios at that time. Now, either he has conveniently forgotten about this or this Richardson has been tutored to say what hes saying,Earlier, Thakur said at a press conference that the ICC had stepped in when there were administrative issues with other member boards, but it was ignoring what was happening with the BCCI. Here there is an outside interference, Thakur said. ICC takes a decision on Nepal, Sri Lanka on the basis of outside interference, [but] they are keeping mum here when BCCI is concerned. In July, Indias Supreme Court accepted a majority of the recommendations put forward by the Lodha Committee covering wide-ranging aspects of Indian cricket at the central and state level, and gave the BCCI a maximum of six months to implement the reforms. The Lodha Committee, comprising former Chief Justice of India RM Lodha and retired Supreme Court judges, Ashok Bhan and R Raveendran was formed by the court in January 2015 to determine appropriate punishments for the franchises involved in the 2013 IPL corruption scandal, and propose changes to the BCCIs functioning.Last week, Thakur had said the ICC regime was trying to sideline the BCCI, one of the most important stakeholders in global cricket today.Manohar, meanwhile, had said he was concerned with the interests of the ICC and world cricket, not the BCCI. Manohar had seemed to take a similar tone when, soon after taking charge of the ICC in November 2015, he said he wanted to stop the bullying caused by the constitutional revamp of 2014 - the Big Three episode, which left the BCCI, the ECB and Cricket Australia better off than other member boards financially and in terms of administrative powers. PITTSBURGH --?Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger absolutely expects Andrew Luck to take the field for the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday night, but he cautions the star quarterback to be smart while in concussion protocol. Cheap Saints Jerseys .Roethlisberger is drawing from experience after 12-plus years in the league and multiple concussion-related issues. The brain is nothing to mess with, Roethlisberger told Indianapolis reporters on a conference call. He is young and has a long career ahead of himself.Roethlisberger, 34, said he has to expect Luck, 27, to play because Lucks a tough competitor and one of the best in the game. But he wouldnt knock Luck for sitting if necessary. The Tennessee Titans sacked Luck twice and hit him eight times in the Colts win Sunday, with defensive tackle Austin Johnsons fourth-quarter hit likely forcing Luck into the concussion protocol.Luck must be cleared before playing. Scott Tolzien is the backup. On the season, Luck is averaging 3.5 sacks per game.Roethlisberger was in the protocol last season after taking a hit from Seattle Seahawks defensive tackle Michael Bennett in a Week 12 loss. He played the next game, with six full days to recover compared to Lucks three days this week. Roethlisberger said after that game that he didnt have a concussion. Roethlisberger has taken 453 sacks in his career, 34 in the past two seasons. Roethlisbergers concussion history dates to at least 2006, when he was questionable for a game with the Oakland Raiders while coming off a head injury. When asked by Indianapolis media whether hes kept track of his concussions, Roethlisberger said, I have no idea. Maybe too many.I have played this game a long time and younger days in my career when I wouldnt have [missed time], and there were many times that Ive said that I havent told anybody that I had been dinged or had a concussion, Roethlisberger said. Looking back on it, I wish I wouldnt have. You have to be smart when it comes to your brain because you only play football for such a short period of your life. When you have a family and people that you are going to be with for the long term, you have to really make sure your health is taken care of.Roethlisberger has played through several injuries as part of what he calls a violent sport. One injury cant be played through, he says. You can rub dirt on a lot of things, but you cant rub dirt on the brain, Roethlisberger said.ESPNs Mike Wells contributed to this report. Sydney Kings 92 - 78 NZ BreakersThe NZ Breakers have brought up skipper Mika Vukonas 300th club appearance in the worst possible way, going down 92-78 to the Sydney Kings. Black Friday Packers Jerseys .Last years NBL runners-up looked off the mark from the first moment in Auckland, as Kings guns Kevin Lisch and new import Josh Powell ran the show.Former NBA champion Powell brought up an impressive 17 points and three rebounds, while star recruit Lisch nailed 14 points.Power forward Greg Whittington also snared 22 points with 70 per cent shooting accuracy in a dominant display. The Breakers struggled to get within 10 points of the Sydney outfit, who look rejuvenated under the guidance of new boss Andrew Gaze. They lost all four quarters and relinquished the ball 17 times after falling behind the eight-ball with an insipid first-quarter.Despite pushing into an early six-point lead, the Breakers fell behind quickly as Lisch, Jason Cadee and Tom Garlepp drained from behind the three-point line.A 23-18 first-quarter scoreline quickly turned into a 14-point buffer in the second before a late Breakers rally sent the sides into the break at 50-42.The Breakers continued to haemorrhage points in the second half, spared only by the excellence of swingman Tom Abercrombie.Abercrombie threw 17 points, including a pair of three-pointers, as his side tried desperately to get back into the match.A closer third quarter, with just two points separating the sides, set the Breakers up for a potentially barnstorming finish at 72-62.New Zealand field goals to Alex Pledger, gun shooting guard Corey Webster and Akil Mitchell brought the margin to seven, but the lethal Whittington and Powell kicked into gear when their side needed them, restoring a 12-point buffer and killing off the match.New Zealand now head to Brisbane to take on the Bullets this weekend, while the Kings gear up for Illawarra at home on Monday.SYDNEY KINGS 92 (Whittington 22, Powell 17, Cadee 15) NEW ZEALAND BREAKERS 78 (Abercrombie 17, Webster 14, Mitchell 13)Melbourne United 78 - 70 Brisbane BulletsMelbourne United has claimed a third straight win in the National Basketball League with a 78-70 victory over the Brisbane Bullets in Melbourne on Thursday night. But the win may come at a price, with captain Chris Goulding being carried from the court with an ankle problem in the final term. The home side outscored the Bullets 29-10 in the pivotal second quarter, Goulding providing the spark with three triples and a key steal and veteran big man David Andersen nailing a three-pointer to give Melbourne a 41-26 advantage at the main break.Returning to the NBL after a distinguished career in Europe and the NBA, Andersen played his best game for United with 15 points, four rebounds, three steals and two blocked shots.Goulding finished with 13 points before going down injured.Behind a standout effort from former United player Daniel Kickert (23 points), Brisbane closed the margin to six points in the fourth quarter but key baskets to Ramone Moore and Cedric Jackson ensured victory for United.Former Chicago Bulls forward Cam Bairstow registered 15 points and 9 rebounds in 18 minutes for the Bullets as he plays his way back from a shoulder injury.Melbourne coach Dean Demopoulos was pleased with the way his side responded after losing their captain with eight minutes left in the match. As a group, our collective energy was really positive, he said.?Its something we work on ... today it happened to work for us and we absorbed the loss of Chris and kept going.Demopoulos was unsure of the severity of Gouldings injury with a home clash against Perth looming on Sunday. We feel real bad about Chris ... hopefully its not too long.Brisbane coach Andrej Lemanis saw plenty of positives in his teams performance apart from a damaging second quarter from United.I think we are still a new team that hasnt played together before, he said.As a result when things get going against us a little bit, we still havent found our identity to stop the momentum before it kind of gets out of control as it did tonight. We lost one quarter in the game, we got smashed in that quarter and thats the one right now that we have got to be able to work our way through. The Bullets will next face the New Zealand Breakers at home on Saturday night.MELBOURNE UNITED 78?(Andersen, Moore 15, Jackson 14) BRISBANE BULLETS 70?(Kickert 23, Bairstow 15, Beal 8) Wholesale Packers Jerseys .C. - The Carolina Hurricanes have placed backup goalie Anton Khudobin on injured reserve with an unspecified lower-body injury. The end of an international season brings thoughts on what has been achieved and what challenges next lie ahead. Capitals Jerseys Store . For Andrew Strauss, the director of cricket who spent Friday and Saturday appraising all of Englands centrally and incrementally contracted players at Loughborough, there is plenty to ponder on both counts. At the forefront is the situation regarding the limited-overs captain, Eoin Morgan, and the likelihood that he will not tour Bangladesh for the one-day series. Unless Strauss powers of negotiation have worked unexpectedly in allaying Morgans concerns, there does not appear much chance of changing his mind. Final confirmation is expected Sunday evening. No Morgan, who turned 30 on Saturday, would mean a new one-day captain would be needed for the three matches in Bangladesh. Jos Buttler, as vice-captain, would head the list - he has led England once before, in a T20 against Pakistan - although, given his workload as wicketkeeper, longer-term Joe Root could be the likelier successor to Morgan when a permanent change is made.Players have been assured that pulling out of the tour will not be held against them, but Strauss could not guarantee an open door straight back if others take their chance. If the player given a place by Morgans absence - Jonny Bairstow or Ben Duckett, for example - enjoys a prolific series against Bangladesh there will be a challenging situation for Strauss and the England selectors, although it seems highly unlikely that Morgan will not be Englands captain at the Champions Trophy. That could be the time it is considered whether he is the man to lead England all the way to the 2019 World Cup.Beyond the difficulties presented by the Bangladesh tour, Strauss remit is also to keep thinking ahead. With that in mind, and the proximity of two major global one-day events in three years, there are likely to be some changes to Englands central contracts system when the new cohort are confirmed at the end of the September.Since Strauss was appointed last May his mantra has been the importance of treating limited-overs cricket seriously. Led by the coaching staff, Trevor Bayliss and Paul Farbrace, plus Morgans captaincy, Englands white-ball cricket has often been spectacular in the last 18 months. That is likely to be reflected in the updated contracts system, which could give greater weighting to white-ball performances while an increased number of deals could be handed out in order to include one-day specialists ahead of the Champions Trophy; the likes of Jason Roy, Chris Jordan, Liam Plunkett and David Willey could benefit. Morgan holds one of the current 11 central contracts as does Buttler who has been a limited-overs specialist for much of the last 12 months.Ian Bell is also in the current batch but will lose his barring an unlikely recall for the winter tours. Jonny Bairstow and Chris Woakes, two of Englands major successes in Test cricket this season, will be in line for significant central contracts having only been on incremental deals for 2015-16.Ive spoken a lot about taking white-ball cricket more seriously and creating a balance between the formats, Strauss said. I dont think our central contracts system as it stands does that and weve been working on a creating a system that reflects that better. There is also a focus on the coaching staff as well as the players. There will be rotation among coaches this winter with Andy Hurry, the U-19 head coach, Paul Collingwood, Graham Thorpe and Steve Rhodes all having spells with the senior side.We understand how demanding touring non-stop is and how important it is for the support staff to be fresh but its also a way of introucing people to the environment, Strauss said. What we are trying to do with our coaching staff is ensure they are working up and down the programme from U-19s up to the England team.In terms of the selection process there will not be changes in the immediate future. There appeared to be tensions earlier this season when a majority of the selectors, led by medical advice, overruled Bayliss and Alastair Cooks desire to have James Anderson available for the first Test against Pakistan after he had suffered a shoulder injury in the lead-up to the series.Strauss, who has attended most selection meetings this season but does not have a vote, said he remains happy with the panel headed by James Whitaker which includes Mick Newell and Angus Fraser as well as Bayliss. Strauss focus continues to be making the vast amount of information collected on players used more effectively in selection. In terms of the personalities, I think its working well, Strauss said. The selection process has worked really well in the time Ive been there. For me the real focus is the information we give the people making the decisions. Better use of technology, analysis, making it easier to tap into the huge amount of data we have on computers. The final names those selectors come up with for Bangladesh and India, which will be announced on Friday, will no doubt provoke much debate. JOHNS, N. http://www.authenticcapitalsshopnhl.com/ . The defence is doing its part, too. Drew Brees threw a pair of touchdown passes in the first half and the guys on the other side made sure that was enough, sending the Saints to a 17-13 victory over the Atlanta Falcons on Thursday night. ALLEN PARK, Mich. -- Reggie Bush has been with the Detroit Lions for a little more than two months and already likes what he sees. A lot. "We have the guys here to be able to win a Super Bowl," the speedy running back said Tuesday. "Obviously with that said, theres a lot that has to go into the season, the scheme, this off-season, before we can even think about that. Right now, we just have to think about doing the little things right, coming together and building that chemistry." Bush did his part during an optional workout, working on passing routes with Matthew Stafford on one side of the field while the rest of the team was participating in or watching another drill. "Those little things help, they make a big difference," Bush said. Detroit has made some big moves -- such as signing Bush to a four-year deal in March -- and subtle ones to reshape its roster in the hopes of bouncing back from a four-win season that ended with an eight-game losing streak. Like Bush, team vice chairman Bill Ford has liked what he has seen the Martin Mayhew-led front office do this season to make this season more similar to 2011, when the Lions won 10 games and made it to the playoffs for the first time in more than a decade. "I like the talent on the team," Ford said after watching the teams workout. "Martin has done a great job. We have a lot more depth than we did going into prior seasons." Ford didnt want to make predictions, but he likes the teams chances. "Weve got a quarterback and there are teams in the league that cant say that," Ford said. "And obviously, we have a lot of talent around this quarterback as well, so, those are reasons. Defensively, I think weve added important pieces. And, I feel very good about the direction." Ford was supportive of coach Jim Schwartz, but he didnt exactly rave about the coachh with a 22-42 record over the last four years after he inherited a team coming off the NFLs first 0-16 season. Adidas Capitals Jerseys. . "I think Jim would be the first to admit there have been times that he has learned on the job, but I think hes a very, very good coach," Ford said. Schwartzs chances of being successful this year seem to be improving daily because Mayhew seems to improving the roster with a series of signings and waiver claims. Detroit signed two veteran guards, Leroy Harris and Jake Scott, to compete to start at right guard. The Lions also brought in Michael Spurlock to add depth at receiver and on special teams. "They have a pretty prolific offence, so I am excited to be here," said Harris, who is recovering from surgery on his right knee. "And, I hopefully should be good to go by training camp." Soon after the start of free agency, safety Glover Quinn and defensive end Jason Jones were signed to be starters. Kicker David Akers, special teams ace Montell Owens, receiver Devin Thomas and defensive tackle C.J. Mosley have also been added to address voids. "This is the year for us," Jones said. "We have to do some big things." Bush expects the offence, with receiver Calvin Johnson, to dominate like the Super Bowl-winning Saints team he played on did during the 2009 season. "Theres no excuse for us not to be a top-three offence, even No. 1," Bush said. "We have all the guys here of that calibre to be a top-ranked offence. Its up to us now, putting in the work." Notes: DT Nick Fairley was not attend the optional workout, "He chose not to be here and its voluntary," Schwartz said. ... Johnson didnt practice, getting a day of rest from Schwartz. ... White Hurricanes Jerseys .Fisher said he planned to play Goff throughout the third quarter against the Dallas Cowboys in the teams preseason opener, but when he learned at the half that the rookie quarterback had a sore non-throwing shoulder after taking a hit in the second quarter, Fisher decided to sit him.At halftime, he was getting stiff, and I didnt want to mess around with it, Fisher said. Both Fisher and Goff said the injury was not serious.Im fine, Goff said. Ive played through much worse.Goff, the No.1 overall pick in Aprils draft, completed just 4 of 9 passes for 38 yards in the Rams?28-24 win. Two passes were dropped. He also threw an interception.Goff was banged up when hit by Dallas linebacker Derek Akunne in his first series. He got hit, and the ball floated, Fisher said. He understands that.Fisher said he expects the rookie to be able to practice this week. The Rams host the Chiefs next Saturday.?He was fine, Fisher said. Nothing was too big for him. He was at ease. It was fun.Goff did return for a second series and might have thrown his first touchdown pass, if rookie receiver Pharoh Cooper had not dropped the ball.It would have been great, but I have a lot of football ahead of me, Goff said. Hopefully next week I can have a little more production. Youth Hurricanes Jerseys . The showiest items on Calgarys lot were forwards Mike Cammalleri and Lee Stempniak. PHILADELPHIA -- As?Temple?kicks off its football season, the schools drive for a 35,000-seat stadium appears to be stalled.Facing intense community opposition, skeptical legislators and a summer leadership crisis that forced Temples provost and president to step down, the school has no clear timeline to bring a proposal to City Hall. The Owls have paid rent since 2003 to play 6 miles away at Lincoln Financial Field, home of the?Philadelphia Eagles.?To build its own campus facility, Temple needs legislation passed by City Council -- but a spokeswoman for Darrell Clarke, who represents the universitys North Philadelphia district, says first there must be a rigorous and respectful community engagement process. As of now, and as far as Council President Clarke is concerned, there is no stadium proposal for Council to consider, Clarkes spokeswoman Jane Roh said Friday. The $126 million plan has generated controversy since February, when Temples board of trustees approved a feasibility study, hired architects and tore down apartments on university land near campus.Neighbors worry that traffic and parking shortages could jam streets with drunk tailgaters. Temple wants to build across the street from an elementary school, a home for the elderly, and dozens of rowhomes. Why do you need a stadium in the middle of a residential area? said resident Karen Sisco. When school is in session and they decide to have a game on Friday night, you have the rigmarole, the students who get drunk and forget that it is a community and have bad behavior. But supporters say the stadium will make the campus -- historically a commuter school -- a tighter-knit community. The school serves more than 34,000 full-time students. You see every other southern school or out west -- thats everything they are, is football. Thats how you grow a university, said Tyler Baldo, a junior advertising major from Delaware. The university says rent at Lincoln Financial Field will triple from $1 million per year to $3 million starting 2018. So, by building its own facility -- financed through donations, loans and grants -- Temple wont have to pay rent. Officials say tuition will not bee affected. Adidas Hurricanes Jerseys. t makes financial sense, university spokesman Ray Betzner said. That $3 million can be used to support the educational mission of the university. The Owls have seen a rebirth after decades as one of the worst programs in college football. They went 9-4 in 2009, their best record since 1979. Last season, they took off under coach Matt Rhule, including beating rival Penn State for the first time in 74 years in front of nearly 70,000 fans.Ive been at Temple since `02 -- I can give a really good lecture, but Im never going to get 69,000 people to come to it, said Scott Gratson, associate professor of communications. How the campus grew together, came together, over that event, was absolutely spectacular. When talk of a new stadium began, pushback was immediate. The Stadium Stompers, a group of student and community activists, capped off a series of protests earlier this year by presenting Temples then-president, Neil Theobald, with an award for Best Gentrifier.Temple occupies a large swath of impoverished North Philadelphia, and the largely black population has long been concerned about being shoved out by rising rents and an expanding university footprint. The student population living near campus has more than doubled in the past decade, and a May report by the Pew Charitable Trusts found that median home sale prices near the proposed stadium site have spiked tenfold in 13 years, from $11,250 to $140,000.Temple has tried to soothe concerns by stressing the potential benefits of a stadium, including new jobs and retail outlets. But residents remain unconvinced. The Stompers are planning more protests, with ideas ranging from blocking the homecoming parade to sculpting and stomping a mini-stadium.For now, Temple is conducting a $1.25 million traffic study. The university and the board was effectively going through due diligence -- a feasibility review of the project, and that hasnt changed, said Kevin Feeley, spokesman for Temples board of trustees. We are still doing our due diligence. He spent the rest of the season with Triple-A Tacoma, going 5-0 with two saves and a 3.77 ERA in 37 games.A Texas native, Rollins originally signed with Toronto after being taken in the 24th round in the 2011 amateur draft, and also spent time in Houstons organization. He began his pro career primarily as a starter before moving to full-time reliever two years ago. Adidas Flyers Jerseys . Meanwhile, there were huge victories for Sunderland and West Ham over fellow relegation rivals, leaving the battle to avoid the drop up for grabs with the bottom 11 teams separated by just six points. Eden Hazard and Fernando Torres scored second-half goals to seal a fourth straight victory for Chelsea, which climbed above Arsenal and Manchester City in the standings ahead of their games on Monday and Sunday respectively. http://www.authenticflyersshopnhl.com/ . All of the scoring came in the final 20:04. Lucic scored on a power play at 15:46 of the third period, when he tipped a shot over Stars goalie Kari Lehtonen for a 3-1 lead. The Pittsburgh Steelers are coming off their worst loss in 27 years while the Kansas City Chiefs are rolling into Heinz Field on Sunday (8:30 p.m. ET) on a turnover-caused high. The Steelers were smashed on the road following a 34-3 setback in Philadelphia last Sunday. The Chiefs hammered the New York Jets 24-3, in a game in which the defense and special teams caused eight turnovers. Both teams enter this contest with a 2-1 mark but with a different feel and attitude. The Steelers seemingly could do nothing right last Sunday while the Chiefs had everything working in their favor. Well, unless you ask Kansas City head coach Andy Reid. Its important we enjoy this today and then get ourselves ready for the Steelers. We have a ton of room to improve -- absolutely. We have a lot of things we can take out of this and well do that work, Reid said after the win on Sunday. The one major advantage the Chiefs have on the Steelers is turnover ratio. Kansas City is plus-5 in that department, while the Steelers are minus-1. The Steelers defense has not been producing enough turnovers and the offense has coughed the football up too much.Running backs seem to have the Steelers number. In Week 2, Cincinnati Bengals running back Gio Bernard had 100 receiving yards and a touchdown. Last week, Eagles running back Darren Sproles had six receptions for 128 yards, including a 73-yard touchdown. There is room for improvement all around, whether its the pass rush, not tackling well, not rallying to screens better, not winning third downs. We got our (butts) kicked. Ill simply say it like that. I got my (butt) kicked. We all got our (butts) kicked. Were going to learn from it, defensive end Cam Heyward said. One positive way the Steelers can look at the lopsided defeat is the Chiefs run virtually the same offensive system as Philadelphia. Eagles head coach Doug Pederson brought the offensive scheme to Philadelphia from Kansas City, where he was the offensive coordinator during Andy Reids tenure. This should allow the young secondary for the Steelers to study the mistakes they made and correct them going up against a similar styled opponent.Until you stop stuff like that, Steelers linebacker Arthur Moats said, its a copycat league. Theyre going to see we have to tackle better against the screen. Flyers Jerseys For Sale. Were totally expecting that, but we put that out there, and its going to be on us to rectify that situation,Those comments were directed toward players like rookie cornerbacks Artie Burns and Sean Davis. Both missed numerous tackles in Philadelphia. Veterans Ross Cockrell and Mike Mitchell both need to be held more accountable as well in stopping the opponents passing attack. The Steelers secondary has not been productive at all and has allowed over 300 yards passing in all three of the games played this season.A secondary member that has been playing lights out this season for the Chiefs is second-year cornerback Marcus Peters. The 2015 first-round selection already has an NFL-best four interceptions on the season and has tackled well in space. The matchup versus Steelers wide receiver Antonio Brown will be one to watch on Sunday night. Brown is fourth in the NFL with 305 receiving yards on 24 receptions, though half of those catches were versus the Eagles in the blowout loss. Brown can stretch the field and Peters loves to play physical, so this will be a highlighted battle in Week 4.This game also marks the return of Pittsburgh running back LeVeon Bell from his three-game suspension for violating the league drug policy. Most seasons this would be the opening headline but Bells replacement, DeAngelo Williams, has played solid in his stead. Williams is seventh in the NFL in rushing with 258 yards. This two-headed attack will be looking to have even better success versus a Chiefs rushing defense that is average. Kansas City gives up 123 yards a game on the ground. The Steelers need to attack the interior of the Chiefs defense behind center Maurkice Pouncey and guard David DeCastro, both former first-round selections for the Steelers. The Chiefs have been without the Pro Bowl running back Jamaal Charles for the first three game, as he recovers from knee surgery. But the running back-by-committee approach of Spencer Ware and Charcandrick West has been solid for Kansas City. Neither runner has the skill set of Charles, but the Chiefs average 4.2 yards a rush with three runs over 20 yards. The last group of the League of Legends World Championship (Worlds), Group B, needed every single game to determine its final two teams. At one point, there were three teams with a record of 2-3 with only two games left to play for the day -- it truly was a free-for-all group. In the end, the defending Worlds champion, SK Telecom T1 (SKT) and Cloud 9 (C9) qualified for the quarterfinals.Winner of the day: SK Telecom T1The cream of the crop showed up in elite form for the final day of the group stage. SKT showcased its versatility in the draft phase and its game play. The South Korean team snowballed the teams it was expected to beat (I May) and played disciplined and calculated League of Legends to prevent potential upsets against C9 and Flash Wolves. Scarier still, every member of SKT played a standout game. Whether it was the support, the AD carry, or even the weaker top lane, it was a balanced attack and dominant day. SKT should be the favorite for the rest of Worlds if its group play was any indication.Losers of the day: I May and Flash WolvesI May almost lucked itself into a quarterfinals berth, but the sloppy play that plagued the Chinese team continued until its exit from the group stage. I May was either out-drafted in composition (SKTs poke-heavy lineup) or just outplayed (C9s winning the early game). Even in its lone victory over the Flash Wolves, the team played aimlessly after it took an objective and gold lead. I May was simply not ready to move on and every team, with the exception of Flash Wolves throw, exposed the gap.Flash Wolves fell into this category based off of its record and schedule. White Flyers Jerseys. Flash Wolves needed to beat the top team from the group, SKT, in order to enter a tiebreaker with C9 but failed to do so. The team did not necessarily play poorly, it just couldnt hang long enough to force a tie. One team needed to lose out of C9 and Flash Wolves and the better team exited.Team that needed improvement: Cloud 9C9 played well enough to qualify out of its group, but there were still many shortcomings and errors in its outings. All in all, the North American team looked strong in one and a half games and rather weak for the rest of its matchups. The teams damage-dealers were wholly inconsistent and individual play was necessary at multiple situations to bail the team out. In its game against SKT, it was just Jung Impact Eon-yeong that made a lasting impression, but then he disappeared for the rest of the day. After that, there were only isolated standout performances from each of the core farmers of C9, Nicolaj Jensen Jensen and Zach Sneaky Scuderi.C9 played most of its games with the late-game in mind and forced the opposition to crawl at its pace -- which was a positive if the opposition was also weak in that department. But, the downside to the strategy is that its simple to beat: just aggressively punish C9s weaker lanes and rotate for advantageous forced fights. If C9 wants to continue its Worlds journey, it needs to adapt and develop different strategies outside of its mid and late game focus.
